The Flyers could really use some cheap, veteran scoring depth down the wings. Enter Troy Brouwer.

Player Name: Troy Brouwer
Current Team: St. Louis Blues
Weight: 213 lbs.
Stats (82 GP): 18 G, 21 A, 39 PTS, +2, 62 PIM
Most Recent Cap Hit: $3.67 Million
Why the Flyers Should Target Him:
Brouwer is a guy that seems like he has been around forever, but he is only 30 years old. He has veteran savvy, has won before, can play all situations, and is a prototypical power middle-six winger.
Where He Would Fit in the Lineup:
Brouwer would likely be the Flyers’ third line right wing, but he would see a lot of ice time on special teams as well. A line of Brouwer, Nick Cousins, and Matt Read sounds particularly enticing as a third unit.
How Much Would He Cost?
Brouwer’s stock has risen quite high recently. A 4-year contract with a $4.25 million cap hit doesn’t seem out of the question for Brouwer.
Other Teams That Could Show Interest:
Brouwer’s old St. Louis Blues have interest in retaining him, as do contenders like the Rangers, Red Wings, Bruins and Predators as well as up-and-comers like the Canucks, Oilers, Canadiens, and Sabres.
What They’re Saying:
“Brouwer on Canucks : ‘I have thought about it, for sure. Family & friends, playing for my hometown, it would be an experience for sure.’”
