With the Flyers in need of speed and scoring, could Loui Eriksson find himself in a Flyers uniform next season?

Player Name: Loui Eriksson
Current Team: Boston Bruins
Weight: 183 lbs.
Stats (82 GP): 30 G, 33 A, 63 PTS, +13, 12 PIM
Most Recent Cap Hit: $4.25 Million
Why the Flyers Should Target Him:
The Flyers have needed a player like Eriksson for quite some time: a speedy, finesse winger that can play all situations and has a scoring touch. The Flyers’ lack of secondary scoring was quite prevalent in the Flyers’ ill-fated playoff series against the dynamic Washington Capitals, and Eriksson would remedy that issue. Eriksson could end up being a poor man’s Jake Voracek.
Where He Would Fit in the Lineup:
Eriksson can play the left or the right wing, but he’d probably slot in alongside either Claude Giroux or Sean Couturier on the top six and would see time on both the power play and penalty kill.
How Much Would He Cost?
Eriksson would be expensive; he’d likely fetch a 5-year deal with a cap hit around $6 million. Fortunately, the Flyers have almost $12 million in cap space to play with.
Other Teams That Could Show Interest:
Pretty much every other team in the NHL. Eriksson is one of the more high-profile free agents available this summer, and teams like the Rangers, Red Wings, Canadiens, Blues, and Eriksson’s old Bruins will be very interested in Eriksson as well.
What They’re Saying:
“As of Sunday evening, six teams had contacted Eriksson’s agent about the player.
The Bruins are interested in retaining Eriksson, but have been reluctant to sign Eriksson for anything longer than four years.”
