From 2011-2014, there was one certainty in the Philadelphia Flyers’ lineup.
No matter what transpired over the course of the season, winger Matt Read would have at least 20 goals to his credit by season’s end.
The undrafted winger out of Bemidji State totaled at least 22 goals in each of his first three seasons (prorated 22 for lockout-shortened 2013 season), and quickly became a fan favorite for his clutch performances, speed, two-way savvy, and dead-eye wrist shot.
The past few years have been much different.
