After Wednesday’s thrilling 2-1 shootout victory over their likely first-round playoff opponent, the Washington Capitals, the Philadelphia Flyers were amped for more games like Wednesday Night’s. However, they also remain focused on the task at hand: winning as many games as possible.
“We haven’t thought about [a playoff series],” Jake Voracek said. “Those were two big points for us that we needed to get. Playoffs it’s getting close, but we’re not there yet, so we have to be focused on the regular season.”
However, the possibility of a postseason series with the rival Capitals is more than a little bit intriguing. The Flyers played at the same level as the President’s Trophy winners for all 65 minutes—and then sealed the win in a shootout.
